Recently qualified looking for advice

You can for sole traders though - just not limited companies or partnerships.

You will need to gain the manual versions of your qualifications as well by September 2011. You can't do payroll until you pass the payroll management diploma. You can't do self assessment tax returns until you've passed that exam. Some people don't want to do those anyway.

An easy way to see what you can and can't do is put your postcode into this page and locate your own name. Assuming you have activated this directory thingummyjig.

Here's what I'm allowed to do having passed the manual bookkeeping Level II.

ICB licensed Services (actual services may differ)
Self Assessment Tax

Bookkeeping to Trial Balance

Cash Flow Forecasts

Credit Control

Preparation of Final Accounts for Sole Traders

VAT Returns

The only problem with that is - I don't recall ever learning about "Cash Flow Forecasts".

EDIT : So that woould mean you could still do the bookkeeping for a Limited Company if they had an accountant to deal with the year end adjustments etc.

Hi accountantnow,

Would you tell me more about your fees, how you justify them, what are your conversion rates (lead to sale) in the south west region,how many leads did you have in the SME sector for bookkeeping in the region and how are you different to yell.com,etc?
Please, if you could leave out all the marketing bits, I really only would be interested in facts, I can decide myself if it is good for me or not...
I know this forum is not really place for advertising but I had a look at your website and I found your fees extremly high so I would be very interested if your service is really good or just really expensive, same as many others.

It was the bit where he was telling newly qualifieds that they will already be too busy at the same time that Reed get 935 applicants for a single job ad in two hours that got me!

Seems right up there with training companies telling people that they will be on £35k p.a. immediately on qualifying and never be short of work.... Yer, right.

Same rule as always methinks. If it looks too good to be true then it probably is.
