A Word of Warning and Hopefully Just a Coincidence ?

Has any one had any dealings with Cardell Media Ltd.

You may have received an hand written envelope, with a newspaper clipping enclosed and a hand written post it note attached, saying something like "I saw this and thought of you...." which it turns out isn't hand written and is a marketing ploy (Which the ASA have ruled against)

I have a client who has signed up to their marketing mentoring strategy and out of curiosity I Googled them and saw some alarming results. I wont say too much as apparently the owner isn't averse to getting his American lawyers to send letters out.
If you want to know more Google them.

What really worries me is that the address they operate from in the UK is the same address that appears on the bottom of the ICB website home page

HQ: 1 Northumberland Avenue, Trafalgar Square, London WC2N 5BW

I do hope it is a multi occupancy office

More than likely.

I remember when I signed up with Ideal Schools and thought I had their address wrong because I recognised the address from somewhere else.

Hi Peasie

That's reassuring. I didn't think there would be a connection but none the less, it makes you think.

Hi Bill,

and you can have an address there too for just £89.

have a look at this website :

http://www.regus.co.uk/virtualoffices/uk/Dartford.html

The Northumberland Avenue address is number 22.

The setup seems quite similar to the sort of thing that Rob offers but with the addition of an address to get you noticed.

Makes sense to me as who would want to pay for a London office if you could be situated anywhere.

So anyway, no worries, I don't think that there's any real association with the ICB.

Hope your well matey,

talk soon,

Shaun.

Do you know where I can verify that? Many thanks if you have a link.

Hi Quentin

Follow the link

http://www.asa.org.uk/Complaints-and-ASA-action/Adjudications/2010/4/Cardell-Media-Ltd/TF_ADJ_48319.aspx

Just type in Cardell Media into Google and the drop down almost defaults to ....scam

Hey Shaun

Where did you spring up from? I am sure you weren't in this post earlier when I looked!

I am well thanks. How's things for you in sunny Scotland? Expect you had a long weekend at home.

Haven't been on here much myself lately, been a bit busy and as you have seen, we have some very good new contributors. Haven't seen much of Rob lately either (Rob, if you are reading this, hope all is well)

Many thanks Bill. That is very useful. I went to a marketing seminar a year ago and the method described was being pushed as a great marketing tool. Of course, it all just looks spammy. The trouble is, just like all scams it fools enough people to make it worthwhile for the scammers to continue. Ah well, that's yer human animal for ya!

Hello all,

I can confirm that ICB is nothing to do with Cardell Media.

The Trafalgar Square address is a Regus office for ICB Global who use it for meetings etc. ICB UK also use it for meetings such as the next training provider meeting as London is easy to get to.
