Sage Certification Level 2 on Amazon

Having snapped up the bargain level 3 last week, I have just had a look and got level 2 with the certification & 180 day trial for £36.25 on Amazon.

There is stock left if you want it, its not as cheap as level 3 but cheap enough!!

many thanks. it's great that we're keeping each other informed when special offers become available.

On the subject of these courses I have found that the software is not completely fully functioning and some of the professional and accounts plus reports and other print capabilities are not available with the trial version.

That aside though it is the full professional version that is supplied which is excellent value for the money.

Good luck with the certification and thanks again for keeping us all in the loop.

Talk soon,

Shaun.

Afternoon,

Sorry just to reiterate, is the Sage package on Amazon is the full version? (180 day trial)

Many thanks
Angela

It is but I'm going through it and finding some of the non essential reports are missing and also some of the other printing is restricted (can't remember which bits at the moment but it wasn't the important stuff like invoices).

I assume that this is the only way that Sage could think up how to stop people from keep installing 180 day trial versions of the all singing all dancing version of their software and never actually buy the full product.

Two reports that are definitely missing are :

PRDPROF.SRT (which shows which products have sold at a profit) and
PRDVALUE.SRT (Which shows the value of your remaining stock)

I wrote to Sage support about this a couple of days back but so far they've not been back in touch.

I'll keep you informed of any progress.

cheers,

Shaun.

Ok - thought was too good, otherwise you could get all three versions on a relatively cheap basis (through amazon that is) and run it for a year or more.
Anyhoo this is great price - £30 odd quid is nothing lost compared to full price/worth getting even to have a naviate around. Will be getting mine today - will let you know.

Thanks for your help
Angela

Hi Angela,

it's better than that. Seems as though you can just reinstall the version that you already have to get another 180 days.

It doesn't seem to register itself online and it doesn't need the disk in the machine to work so mines now on two machines. Although, the reason behind that is that it was way too slow on the laptop (only 1gb of RAM and an Intel single core processor) so I've put it on the desktop and I do only actually use the one version.

I'm hanging out for cheap versions of V15 and V16 for Level I and II certification. When I've tried all three I'll decide which one is right for me.

V14 has already taught me that my existing V10 wan't at all right for me and my previous annoyance at Sage has been on the basis of the V10 software.

My annoyance here forwards will of course be based on the price they charge for it!

Well, you can't be a happy member of the grumpy old non gender specific bookkeepers and accountants club!

Hope that you enjoy the course. Its quite easy going despite the occasional frustration of mentioning reports that you can't actually access!

Talk soon,

Shaun.

Ok great, worth knowing.

Sounds like a case sometimes of too many versions, too little time (or money on our case) - I must get around to finishing business plan and getting work in - between studies !!

Thanks for keeping us updated
Angela

Shaun, does that mean that if you unnstall the 180 day trial you can reinstall it on the same machine again?

I have a legitimate copy of V11 but would love to upgrade to the one I've just got with the 180 days without having to cough up mega bucks.

Hi Sheila,

I think that there are too many restrictions on the printing for a replacement of a legit copy with this.

My V10 is also legit and I'm afraid that much as I hate it, with the current finances its going to have to be reinstated once I've finished the V14 certification.

However, on the first point, with the addition of a registry cleaner I think that it will work. Give me a month and I'll tell you. what happens.

Cheers,

Shaun.

Now £41.02

On a straight cost benefit comparison it's now too expensive for me.

Still pretty cheap though if you were weighing this up against a Sage training course or even against Sage certification which is included in the course but to buy separately would cost £50.

Note from my previous emails though that despite this being the full professional version of the software there are some restrictions on the printing capabilities of the package.

I don't believe (but cannot guarantee) that the restrictions would stop one using it for the ICB computerised exams as all of the important reports still seem to be present.

If you've got a question about the presence of a specific report just ask and I'll tell you whether it's there or not (please give the .SRT name and the short description that you have just in case the reports been renamed).

kind regards,

Shaun.

And now £91.65!!!

Now there's a level of inflation that would put some of the African countries to shame.
