WANTED: ICB Diploma in Computerised Bookkeeping Course Books

WANTED: ICB Diploma in Computerised Bookkeeping Course Books

I am desperately after the level 3 Diploma in Computerised Bookkeeping course books. I have sage instant accounts package and am just after the course books to enable me to pass the ICB (Institute of certified bookkeepers) diploma exams. I have already taken and passed the level 2 and am having trouble finding a course that is just for level 3.

Please email me if you have them and how much you want for them raychelmc@hotmail.co.uk

Thank you
Rachel

Hi Rachel,

there are no course books for this.

If you don't yet know Sage then the best approach is to use the BPP AAT foundation bookkeeping with sage and spreadsheets for Excel to get to know Sage (your going to need a copy of Sage as only data files come with the book).

When you've done the book get one of the ICB mocks and work through it.

When you can do it order the actual exam. You sit it at home and get the results back to the ICB within two weeks.

Hope that this helps,

Shaun.

Morning Shaun

Unfortunately, there appear to be no Level III computerised past papers available on the ICB website. Another aspect of the excellent support offered by them.

I know that training providers do courses for the Level III computerised. I wonder if that's what Rachel wants?

Cheers

Neil

Hi Rachel

If you have Sage Instant then you are part way there, as this is the basis of the exam. They send you a disk to down load with opening balances etc already set up. If you have a V11 or earlier you may have to fill them in yourself.

The course I did concentrated on the use of Sage so if you study any of the books available for Instant/ Line 50 that should give you the underpinning knowledge.

Along with the course work I used Computer Accounting - a parctical guide for Sage accounting which wasn't too bad to follow (ISBN 1 872962 27 0)

The only caveat I would add about level III computerised, is that it assumes a knowledge of double entry bookkeeping, for example my exam involved a manufacturing business and I had to develop a manufacturing, trading and profit & loss account from the Chart of Accounts. If I hadn't done the manual first, I would have really struggled with it.

Hi All,

are you aware of our new book Computerised Book-keeping?
Its the only book accredited by the ICB and recognised by the IAB . It also has exam papers / question papers in. It covers all levels and is very good value for money at just £16.99! which makes this book not only the best book on the market in this area but the most affordable.

you can get the book on Amazon. or order through your local WHsmiths and other book shops, or feel free to contact me directly via email @ drpmarshallltd@aol.co.uk.

Warmest regards to you all and good luck in your successful book-keeping and accounting future!

Thanks for posting this. This book isn't listed with the books available in the ICB shop so students might not be aware of its existence - I wasn't!

Hi PhilMcTankup,

thank you for your comment. Do you have the website link for the ICB shop?  so I can look into this further.

Many thanks.
