Sage instants V10 and V12

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone can help me, I have just loaded Sage instants V10 onto my computer (Vista), but I already have Sage V12 on there for another customer, I assuming because they are 2 separate programs that data will not drift from one program to another.  In other words the computer won't get confused between the 2.

I have phoned Sage but didn't really get a proper answer!

Please can someone confirm this is OK.

Many thanks
Mandy

Hi Mandy

In the past I've had two different versions of Sage running on my desktop and had no problems. So hopefully you should be ok.

Hi,
Thanks Fay, did you have them both installed in the same section of the PC or did you costumise the installation and put it elsewhere on the PC.

Hopefully I make sense, not that good on techco things with a PC.  Mines listed under C:\ program files.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed it will work OK.

Kind regards
Mandy

Hi Mandy,

I actually had two different hard drives running on my desktop at the time, and installed one version on each drive. One was the C Drive and one was an E Drive which was installed after I purchased the PC. This was fine but I think if you try to install two versions on the same drive then you will simply update the older version.

I have heard that if you set up different user accounts on windows then you might be able to load two versions of Sage on the same drive without one updating the other, although I've not tried this myself.

Hope this makes sense.

Fay
