VAT on Sales: Just Eat, Deliveroo, Uber Eats


Hi, I receive invoices from these three channels. I can see VAT on commission and admin that I need to pay, but I cannot se VAT breakdown of the revenue (sales). Anyone else has this experience. We are about to be VAT registerd.

you need to explain how these affect your business??? What do you do that you are attempting to reclaim VAT on food? What were the meals for?

Hi Reena

You are responsible for the VAT, not the delivery partner.  They will just charge vat on their commission.

So you need to take the total revenue and divide by 6 to get your VAT amount.

assuming standard VAT and the deliveroo sales are £1000

and the deliveroo charge is £350 + VAT £70

so your vat return will show sales  £833.33  output vat  £166.67

commission £350  input vat £70

Net vat to pay £96.67
