This one is really confusing now!

 

The first link hear quotes

You do not need to register for PAYE if none of your employees are paid £120 or more a week,

But his one quotes

Register for PAYE online

Only continue if the company does, or intends to do, one of the following:

    pay any employees, including company directors, £120 or more a week

https://www.tax.service.gov.uk/eligibility-for-paye/register-online

Whats confusing? If you do not pay employees more than £120 per week then you do not need to register, if you do then you need to register, seems pretty straight forward!

I kind of found it like one of those trick question that I could not understand

But if you say I need to register if over 120 a week then I kind of get it

 

Other question; I know 120 is well below the fresh hold for paying tax and n.i. But the employee may have another job and therefore tax may need to be paid for them. So if I am not registered with the I.R then how do I pay such sums? how do they fill out a P46/ P60?

 The actual wording is

"You do not need to register for PAYE if none of your employees are paid £120 or more a week, get expenses and benefits, have another job or get a pension"

So if they have another job you have to register for PAYE

So if I want to employ myself as director of said company and pay myself £119 or £121 a week. But if I have another source of income then I need to register right?

You also need to register if you earn £121 a week.

Actually I wish HMRC would change their policy on this, and make it a requirement for all employers to have a PAYE scheme.
