Sage nominal codes

Hi

I am looking for advice

I run a manufacturing company.  I get through numerous griders, grinding disks etc and just wondered as to what nominal code i should use i normally just use the repairs and renewals is this correct.

I also would like to know what nominal code I need to use for safety equipment i.e.  gloves, welding masks, safety glasses etc

Thank you for any advice

Cheers

Hi Emma,

The fact that you're asking this question seems to suggest that none of your existing codes seems to be a "natural fit" for the types of expenditure arising in your business. I always advocate not trying to fit round pegs into square holes, so I think you should create new nominals and make sure they're in an appropriate category in the Chart of Accounts. What about "Consumable Equipment and consumables" and "Safety Equipment" as suggested titles?

HTH

Regards,
