Payroll software for calculating holiday pay based on 52 week average earnings

Is there payroll software available that will calculate holiday pay based on the average of the previous 52 week's earnings?  Iris provide an add on but it is 4 times the current cost of our payroll software.

Hi Caroline, and welcome to the forum.

Doesn't Brightpay offer this option?  Moneysoft does, but it's only accurate if they've worked every period for the last 52 weeks, if there's a period without pay it throws the figures out (they do state not to use it in that case)

Hi John

Unfortunately Brightpay doesn't have this feature and they have just informed me "it was originally intended that we would bring in this new feature 52-week average pay report to accommodate holidays calculations. However, having now analysed the development work involved, the decision has been made to not introduce these new features for the time being as originally planned." I will have a look at Moneysoft - I can't think that any of our guys would have a full week off unpaid although the ruling is that any part paid week should be topped up so am not sure how it would do that without manual input?!

Caroline
