State Pension

Our Accounting software is not yet pulling down API's from HMRC as it is not yet available.   Seems a bit late?

A number of our clients are in receipt of State Pensions and in the past this was either available from the HMRC site, or a call to the Agent Helpline.

So far the year none of our clients have this information showing on the HMRC site,  and when contacting HMRC we have been advised it is not available as the taxpayer has not been issued a tax coding. ( as it was not necessary)

Same situation this morning, but even though the client does not have a tax coding HMRC kindly provided estimated figures for the State Pension.

Whilst I appreciate we can confirm this information from our clients personal bank statements, to obtain figures from HMRC etc seems to make sense if possible.

Anyone experiencing similar problems?

Hi Jay

I only have 1 client with a state pension and I just checked on Taxfiler and that is not showing any HMRC information either, I am sure I had this problem a couple of years ago and had to work from the bank statements, not ideal I know

Cheers

Hi Guys

I think the API is very hit and miss.  Out of 3 clients. I got employee info for one but not the other two.  Fortunately it was the most urgent one that I got the info for.

Thank you for the responses.

It's not a major issue except last year our client files were noted "taken from HMRC records" and I wondered if there had been a change of HMRC procedure that I had missed.
