Hi there, any advice please.

Hi to anyone & everyone who reads this I qualified as a bookkeeper back in 2011 with IAB and throughout this time I've helped friends not for profit. I am pleased to say that I now have the all clear from the big C and want to get my life back on track but I've realised that I've lost a lot of confidence in myself, any recommendations about on or offline workshops would be great and very much appreciated, thank you

Hi Donna
Pls add add your first name to the signature bar so it appears on posts (edit profile, signatures).

Lots changed since 2011. Assuming you haven't been doing CPD. What have you been doing for friends? What are your plans? Might help people guide you better.

Edited - wondering why the fcUk i bothered

Thoughts are my own/not to be regarded as official advice, which should be sought from a suitably qualified Accountant.

You should check out answers with reference to the legal position

glad to hear you have received the all clear.

You sound you have lost keeping up to date with this and for that reason would suggest looking at taking a qualification or further courses to update your CPD at least.  If you have kept up to date with your IAB membership they would have lots of additional support

HMRC have lots of resources for agents - reminder for registering MLR and GDPR - will also require insurance

Hi Donna,

Seeing as how you qualified as a Bookkeeper with IAB in the first place you should be confident!

You're now in good health so that's great. Just keep working gradually and best of luck with it!
