Hello, any others here on the ACCA-X course?

I just enrolled last week on the intermediate course and it seems a really good course. I would be interested to speak to others doing or having done the course to find out what are their plans for progression after studying the course and do they intend on taking the exams also? Is it worth paying to take the exams and register etc or perhaps look into taking on another exam instead? Many thanks.

Thoughts are my own/not to be regarded as official advice, which should be sought from a suitably qualified Accountant.

You surprise me Chris as I thought you were qualified and passed the X level. Certainly if you become a student member even just to do the ACCA-X exams then you wouldnt be able to do all that sole trader stuff and anything else beyond TB - ACCA are ultra strict about such and will enforce sanctions if needs be for anyone breaching such conditions.

Hello Joanne,

Yes, I am fully paid up CIMA Member in Practice. I just looked at the ACCA X course for a bit of CPD and a different view point.

Thought it quite good

I started with FA1 and MA1 recently just to get me back into learning mode, I am planning to go ACCA all the way to chartered.
How are you finding the course and have you attempted any exams yet? How far are you planning to go?

Good luck Melinda,

the last two and P2 are really (really, really) hard (#1) but it's all worth it in the end. Certainly seemed to open a lot of doors for me that I thought had been closed due to my age.

all the best,

Shaun.

#1 very time pressured in the exam hall and with ACCA there's as much written between the lines of questions as on the paper. You'll get used to it.... Actually I now really miss my six month fix of three hours of intensive writing... Here's a glimpse at  the future for you (think that this one's the NEC but no matter which one you sit at they're all very similar sized) :
