Thoughts are my own/not to be regarded as official advice, which should be sought from a suitably qualified Accountant.

You should check out answers with reference to the legal position

I just came on to see if anyone else had had the email about the " Discussion Document on HMRCs Anti-Money Laundering Supervision fees"!

I will certainly be responding, especially to the question " Which is your preferred option for charging for supervision or would you prefer to
continue with the current method but with an increased fee?" !

Pah !

AFAICS, it's not a test you "do" - it's a background check covering a number of areas.

I was referring to the 'fit & proper' test...just didn't explain myself properly (too much of a rush) no

I got the email about the discussion document so will enjoying adding my thoughts to it!!

An update for you - got an email from HMRC telling me there is a message for me, logged in to my MLR account and it tells
me the renewal of my supervision has been approved. Also another message asking for the £40.00 for the approvals test.
This is from my renewal which I applied for on 4th June, when they notified me the process could take 45 days - it's
actually been more than 6 months!

My status still shows pending, though, despite the above.

You couldn't make it up, could you?

That reminds me - I had an email from them a few days ago, when it was inconvenient to log-in, and then promptly forgot.

Now that I've been reminded, though, I've logged in and... job's a good 'un. (At last),
