Do I need qualifications ?

Hi All ,  I have been working in practice for 8 years , and thinking of setting up my own business .  Do I need to take the exams or can I just set up a business on my own ?

Hi Sarah
Welcome to the forum - bit more of an intro will be useful (we always ask newbies!)

Do you have any formal qualifications? What is it that you are thinking of setting up as - bookkeeper or Accountant?

You could practice under the banner of QE (qual by experience). Only thing is - check out your current contract as you may be precluded from setting up at all, or within x miles of who your work for etc. Also - to get work from Accountants they do like to see AAT quals although it depends if you know people and they already know and are happy with your standard of work in which case you dont.

Think you should also be able to remove any links showing the business names in their profiles as well.   

I did recall this one being from India and not the USA as per the lie in their profile.   Flaming nuisance spammers.
