Re-Launch of The Book-keepers Forum

Dear All

Existing members and users may notice that the forum looks a little different this morning. Well we're pleased to officially announce the re-launch of The Book-keepers Forum!

We have integrated the forum into the new website for The Book-keepers Network (BKN). The new BKN website contains a wide variety of free resources, reviews and articles for book-keepers from all walks of life. The new website is by no means a finished article, and we have many new resources and plans lined up for the site over the next few months so please keep checking back.

The forum remains completely free for book-keepers to join and use (and will always remain so).

Book-keepers wishing to be included in the BKN 'Find a book-keeper Directory' are advised to check out BKN Full Membership.

We aim to be an independent resource for all book-keepers, regardless of qualification, experience or allegiance to a professional body. This site is dedicated to ensuring book-keepers get a fair deal, and most importantly have a platform that supports them in all aspects of their career and business.

Of course Accountants, Tax Advisors, Business Owners and anyone else with an interest in book-keeping are more than welcome to join us!

We sincerely hope you enjoy using the new website and find it of benefit. However we know we're not perfect, so if you have a suggestion for any improvements please let us know!

Kind regards,

Steven Hillman & Ross Brinsdon (Directors) and The BKN Support Team

I'm never usually up this early in the morning - although occasionally I have been up this late. But the funny thing is to start with I didn't notice anything had changed as the first thing I look at when I visit the forum is the "Recent Posts" link. My eyes focus on that alone. I just thought it was a new advert above.

Now there are many different sections to visit. So well done on the new website.

EDIT : You must have read my mind as there is a page on the different qualification bodies (more of a ladder than the pyramid I was thinking).

Hi Guys,

Great site, lots of useful information there.

One minor point to make, on the accountancy bodies page you state under ICB and IAB "People holding the above qualifications often refer to themselves as 'Certified or Registered Book-keepers'"

Those titles are for membership not the qualifications, you would have to be a Member or Fellow of the ICB to be called Certified Bookkeeper, or a Fellow of the IAB to be called Registered Book-keeper.

Other than that excellent work, I like the blog!

Congrats on the new website. Especially like the accountants page and the suggestion that they should be taken out for lunch!

Hi Steve,

I've still not managed to read through all of the new resources on the site but from what I have read to date the information and services are absolutely priceless.

Well done on the revamped site. Think that you've done the impossible and really improved on something that I thought was an excellent site anyway.

Right, off to take my boy to see Pirates of the Caribean 4 (again!).

kind regards,

Shaun.

Good Evening All

Just wanted to say thank you for taking the time to comment on our new website. It's been much appreciated.

Rest assured this is just the beginning and we won't be resting on our laurels. From this Friday onwards we'll be issuing 'The BKN Weekly Bulletin' (on the forum, on twitter and by email) to keep all members informed of the latest site updates, just to ensure you don't miss anything new!

As mentioned previously, if there's something you'd like to see added to the site please let us know. If appropriate we'll do our best to get it implemented.

Speak to you soon.

Kind regards,

Steve

Thanks Peasie - at first, I thought you meant that it shouldn't be restricted to lunch, but also dinner too.  But then, I realised you meant taken out as in shot.
