P11d's

Hi

I have to complete a couple of P11d's for two of my clients and I am slightly confused, think the hot sun is frying my brain.

I have two clients, both ltd companies, 1 director in one company and 1 director, 1 employee in the other. They all have company cars and all earn less than £8500. Do I still complete a P11D as there isn't an option on a P9D to declare a car.

Thanks

Mark

1st page of the guide says who needs to complete a P11d.  You can also give the employers helpline a phone if unsure, they are usually semi helpfull.

Hi Mark,

don't forget that the £8500 is a combination of remuneration and value of benefits in kind. So if director is on around £5k salary and has a car and fuel there is a fair chance he will go above £8500.

You have to be careful with directors and the 8500 rule - most directors will need to complete a P11D even if they are only taking a very small salary.

Thanks

I had completely forgotten that the £8500 was not just salary. Thanks for reminding me.
