ok, probably silly questions but would like to know.
I no you can claim 40p per mile upto 10,000miles and 25p?? thereafter.
im confused with where this goes on a self emploed tax return???

Also do i just post the fuel receipts and then take these out again at year end to workout allowable mileage????

Or to make is easier, what are the various options in claiming milage??

If you are using mileage method then no other motoring expenses are allowable, the mileage accounts for fuel, wear and tear etc of vehicle. Just post the mileage amount to 'travel'. If you feel it is more beneficial claiming actual fuel costs, insurance, mot, capital allowances etc then obviously do not claim mileage as well but do adjust for personal use.
