New client's previous bookkeeper used Sage and I only have QuickBooks

Hi
I am a self employed bookkeeper and either work from home or clients offices.  I have QuickBooks 2006 on my computer and use this programme for my client's bookkeeping. I use  Sage, Tas and Quickbooks when I work at client's offices. However I hope to have a new client who wants me to do his bookkeeping at home.  His previous bookkeeper/Accountant used Sage 50 Accounts and I don't have Sage on my computer.  I am not sure what to do - should I buy Sage 50 Accounts and then I can only put this one client on it  which seems a very expensive way to go about things.  Is there a programme out there that I can convert his Sage data to and I can add more clients to? Or should I put him on QuickBooks and start from scratch with opening balances?  I would appreciate any advice as to what other bookkeepers would do.
Many thanks

If you go down the Sage route, find out which version of Sage the data is on. It will load onto the latest version, however if it is an older version you may be able to pick up a cheap second hand copy of Sage from Ebay...just make sure the data is compatible.

Hey Bobby,

Have you still got your Mercedes convertible you used to park on the drive of Southfork Ranch? It was my dream car...
