Hi everyone

I have just set up a bookkeeping business (to do in my spare time - I am a part time Practice Business Manager). 

Please look at my website & would appreciate comments - good or bad!

I will let you all know how I get on - have started working for my first client and things seem to be going well.  Looking at trying to get more work - am going to post flyers around local sole traders / small companies.

Any other ideas how to get work?

Hi Terri

Welcome to The Book-keepers Forum!

Had a look at your website and it looks very good. Ensure you research and set up keywords to make it easier for search engines to find your site.

Leaflet/flyer dropping can prove effective but it's really a longer term strategy. It's a good method for building brand recognition if you do it on a regular basis.

You may want to consider joining a local networking group which will get you known locally and help you build up some important contacts. Also try contacting your local bank managers and introducing yourself and your services.

Had a look at your site and the links (About, Services, Info) don't work using Firefox.

The links start "http:\\www..." rather than "http://www..."

I think Internet Explorer 'ignores' the error, but Firefox is more rigid in enforcing syntax.

Terri - looks fine now.

Unfortunately you can never assume that different browsers will display a page in the same way!!
