Hi
I came across this forum as I was trying to find out as much as I can about becoming a self employed book keeper.  I have just completed my level 2 computerised book keeping (sage) with the ICB, I have also passed exams in manual book keeping up and including level 3 with IAB.  Not sure what to do with these now!  Like some people I have toyed with the idea of working for someone, but alot require experience which I do not have.

So I decided to work from home as I have a little boy who is not yet in school, so I want to be able to work around him.

I would be grateful for ANY advice on where to go from here.

Thanks

Michelle

Hi Michelle,

Welcome to The Book-keepers Forum!

Based on your technical knowledge I'm sure that you would be a welcome addition to any firm. If you want to gain some practical book-keeping experience you may want to consider contacting some accountancy recruitment companies. If you want to work from home you could always start doing some simple bookkeeping for small sole-traders which would give you some experience.

All the best.

Guy
