Is having a website useful?

Hi all,

I've been running my book-keeping business for over two years now, and more and more businesses seem to be setting up a website. I had a quote from a local website designer, and was quoted around £500. I can't really see how I could justify this, since I won't selling any products etc. I'm always keen to take on new clients, but I'm very apprehensive about spending in the wrong areas.

Are their any other book-keepers who have a website, and what kind of response have you received from it?

Best wishes,

Sarah

Wow, £500 is way to much to pay for a website. I built my own website and it only costs me £50 per year (including a domain name). It was also very easy to do (I'm no computer wizz).

Having a site is important as it makes a good impression for prospective clients. Try moonfruit.com or 1and1.co.uk for more info. Or do a search on google.

Hope this helps smile

I've obtained 5 new clients over the past 6 weeks, 2 of which informed me that having a website pushed them to get in touch with me. I'm glad I paid a designer to set one up for me, however it did only cost £200.
