VAT return summary and detailed report in SAGE

Hi,

I am preparing the VAT return and there are some discrepancies between the figures for box 1 and 4  on the main return summary and in the detailed report created from Sage. It does not change the VAT amount but I'd like to know where the the problem lies. Not sure if it is some kind of bug in Sage as I have never had a problem like that before - always the figures on the return and in the detailed report matched. Using Sage Instant Accounts.

Has anyone had the same problem?

Not had this problem before and you dont mention what version of sage instant you have,  but I do recall something from the dim and distant past about issues with & being used in customer and supplier names throwing out some wrong things in the VAT.  Do you have any of these and if so do the figures tally with the what is wrong?  How are the balances versus your control accounts?  Have you run an error check?  Can you do a restore and try running it again in case the system stalled part way through the process?
