Hellooo

Hi, I'm Christina, and I'm from Milton Keynes.  I started my journey by becoming treasurer of a local community group.  I've recently finished the AAT qualification, have started up in practice with an ICB licence and have my first client smile.  I feel like I'm learning so much more now that I'm actually doing the work.  Luckily my client's account is fairly small and simple (or at least it should be but I have a tendancy to overthink things) so I'm trialling a couple of software packages with his transactions to see what works best.

Time flies - I was reading forum posts and before I knew it, it's 2:30 am!  Think I ought to get some sleep now   Hopefully catch up with you tomorrow

Thank you Michelle. I got into a bad habit of staying up half the night when I was employed and working from home one night a week. I've been getting better since resigning but still have the odd relapse lol. Have a good day :)

Welcome to the site Christina, hope you enjoy it!

I think the working until ungodly o'clock and a tendency to overthink things is a Bookkeepers/Accountants affliction. Or maybe just the only time we get any peace to be able to think!

I know the feeling, I have not been sleeping very well lately, last week I was up til 6am! But you get into something, and you are just wide awake and have to see it through, if sleep is ever to achieved!! LOL

Is it something in the air at the moment! Same here. Even on Saturday and Sunday I was up before six. Then at the other end of the day you are exhausted but you just can't stop!.... Lost track of the number of times that I've looked up and it was something like three in the morning.

And people think that this is a nine to five job! lol.

Do you two ever have that thing where you just wake up in the middle of the night with the answer to something thats been bothering you? I keep a pen and pad by the side of the bed for such instances.

Hi Christina, welcome to the forum.

kindest regards,

Shaun.

Firstly, welcome to the forum Christina

My problem is actually getting up in a morning!!  I'm a late night person and I'm very rarely in bed before midnight.

I don't have mad inspirations that I have to write down lol, but a couple of years ago I dreamed 5 numbers of the lottery and woke up. I hastily scribbled them down and waited for the next lottery.  I won diddly squat!!!!   Recounting the tale to a mate a long time later he said I should have carried on with the same numbers.  Bit flipping late now I thought, I threw the numbers away in disgust when  I didn't win!!

Thanks for the warm welcomes.

I don't do the lottery any more. When I used to do it regularly, I changed my numbers one week and would have got 4 numbers if I hadn't!

I keep waking up remembering stuff - no pad and pen...think I will get said pad and pen in the morning. Forget in the morning.  Wake up the next night and the cycle is the same.   Although I clearly am a dumb blond in the middle of the night as I have both my ipad and phone next to the bed and can put notes on there - doh!!!!
