Part-time Bookkeeper - St Albans


This role is an excellent opportunity for the right candidate to develop their bookkeeping and accounting skills further within a growing and busy practice. Experience of bookkeeping within an accounting practice would be an advantage but not essential.

THE JOB
Duties include:
Entry of client information into Excel or Online Accounting Systems 
Reconciling bank positions at month and year-end
Liaising with clients to obtain information for bookkeeping
Compilation of trade debtor and creditor ledgers for year-end
Providing ad hoc administration support to the office
Occasional "Front of house" including reception, telephone & appointment making

THE PERSON
The successful candidate will have:
Some previous bookkeeping experience using Excel and (ideally) accounting packages 
Some previous administration experience & proven experience in a busy environment
Excellent literacy, numeracy and computer skills to include Excel, Word and Outlook.
Strong customer service experience over the phone and face to face
Proven organisational and communication skills with all levels of clients
Good team working attitude, with the confidence to take ownership of responsibilities
Good attention to detail with a methodical and thorough approach to work
Punctuality and a positive attitude with attention to detail
Organised with the ability to juggle tasks and prioritise
Structured and well organised to be able to deal with high volumes of work

THE PACKAGE
There would be a three month probationary period.

£15,435 pro rata per year

Hours for this role are 17.5 hours per week (ideally 2pm - 5.30pm each day, but this can be negotiated)

Desirable Qualifications:
- AAT level 2,3,4
- Qualified by experience
