VAT on Kindling and Logs

My garden centre client is thinking about stocking up on some kindling and logs ready for the cooler months later in the year. We're trying to work out the margins before placing an order and we're stuck on the VAT treatment. Will the sales of the kindling and logs be charged out at the lower rate of 5%, assuming the customers are domestic?

Also would the 5% increase to 20% if a business customer purchases the kindling?

Thanks smile

Hi Jenny

I believe sales of kindling used for domestic fuel by customers would be 5%.

Not sure about business customers thoughhmm
