ICB or other past examination papers

Hi all,

I've been watching things develop with you guys over the last 2 months and I am happy to see the close relationship developing on here between you.

I am currently in the runb-up to my ICB exams, and I have been quite fortunate to revolve it around my work during the day which is in a similar field.

I think we should keep this little group small and close-knit, sharing a few ideas and progress.

Currently, I'm finding it difficult to get hold of ICB past-papers - I've got one (the Cottage business one) but that's all there seems to be around. Anyone know of another source?

Thank you,

Daniel

Hi Daniel:

If you are planning to sit the exam on Feb 08 and you do want trying to get the past examination papers, i can tell you that you can buy the past year paper with the ICB. Go to www. book-keepers.org.uk/shop, it will cost £5 per paper with the answer as well. I am sitting the exam in feb 08 and I bought the exam paper as well and i can say that it is good material for preparation for the exam.

Good luck for your exam.

Best wishes,
Jenny

Hi Jakdyer,

I would like a copy of your Level 2 paper - just setting out as an external candidate and a little lost as to how it is examined.

Thanks,

Ian.

I am a completely new to this forum and taking my exam in March.  After scrolling through many sites I am struggling to get any past papers to work through. I wonder if anyone would have a copy of past papers I could use so that I get the right format?  Thanks in advance

Hi Daniel,

I don't suppose you've still got that Cottage business past paper? I'll swap it you for the most current one (Lee Crescent).

I know you sent that post a while ago, so if you'd prefer money instead that's fine.

Please reply asap if you can. Doing that exam next week!

Thanks a lot,
A

That goes for you as well, Obioma. Or anyone else who'd like to swap papers.

They only seem to have one for level I on ICB website.

Thanks!
A

Hi guys

I don't have an Accounting backround and I failed my exam on Nov(Bookkeeping to trial balance) anyone who knows of the Study group around Jhb. I get confused especially with posting to the General Ledger.

Will shortly be starting my exams with the level 1 at home, I know this has to be completed within 2 weeks and that the exam itself is 2 hours long, but can someone tell me if I have to complete the exam in one sitting or can I leave it for an hour or so or whatever and then go back to it, I am only asking as I know it is an open book exam but if there is something that I would like to check on do I have time to do it or is it a case of once you start you have 2 hours straight off and thats it.

Also can someone please advise how many questions ?

thanks for your help in advance

Sue
